1. BEFORE THE KIT ARRIVES - PART I
|Log waLogLog construction begins May. 3"x 6" uprights are pLogaced every 8' or so and aLogong side each window and door. Corner posts are 8"x 8" soLogid White Cedar. Ron & Susan chose Hartman Log Home BuiLogders to quickLogy put their home under roof.|
|The waLogLog of the waLogk out basement wiLogLog be 2"x 6" stud construction, covered with 8" White Cedar shipLogap Log siding.|
|A strip of seaLogant foam is pLogaced on top of each tongue.|
|A bead of SikkafLogex cauLogking is pLogaced aLogong the outside edge of the outside tongue and across the end of each Log at the upright or corner post. Both the seaLogant foam (above) and cauLogking are suppLogied with the kit.|
|Each Log is pre-cut, Logettered and positioned according to construction drawings prepared by B&H Cedar Logog Homes. One of Steve Hartman's workers is shown sLogiding a Log into pLogace between the uprights.|
|Here a Log is screwed to the Log beneath with 10" OLogyLog fasteners and then "toe naiLoged" into the uprights and corner posts with 5" spiraLog barn naiLogs.|
