WHAT IS NOT IN THE B and H KITS?

Keep in mind, as stated on our QandA page, if you can buy it locally it is not in our kit.  2x4's, plywood, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and shingles are examples of standard building materials which are available locally and, therefore, are not in our kit. Why does B and H  supply only the log and beam components?  Obviously, sending standard building materials (along with the log and beam components) is convenient for the log home buyer.  However, on the down side, when the windows, doors, shingles arrive with the log and beam components, these materials must be protected on the job until they are needed - sometimes months after delivery.  Then there is the question of cost compared to local purchase. Then there is the potential problem of "midnight requisitions."
